Redecorating the Bates House: Before and After

On the Bringing Up Bates season seven finale, we watched Erin and Chad Paine, Carlin Bates, and some of the other Bates siblings redecorate the main floor of the Bates house as a surprise for Gil and Kelly Bates. What began as a simple cleaning project turned into new paint colors, decorations, and furniture. At the request of our readers, below are some before and after shots.

The Bates house is bustling with activity, as out-of-town friends and family members begin to arrive and last-minute preparations are made. Josie Bates is about to become Josie Balka. Only one day to go until the two lovebirds tie the knot.

Bates/Balka Rehearsal 'Dinner'

Less than one day to go! Josie Bates and Kelton Balka's rehearsal "dinner" happened today at lunchtime. Practice for the ceremony took place in a field with picturesque hills as the backdrop. The meal was indoors and featured some delicious pies. Right now, the guys are having a bachelor party for Kelton, which includes shooting pool.

Another Bates wedding is in the books! Josie Bates and Kelton Balka are now Mr. and Mrs. Josie and Kelton Balka. Us Weekly has the exclusive story, so we can't spill any beans, but we can share a couple unofficial snapshots of the cutest members of the wedding party. Ring bearers Bradley Bates and Carson Paine, dressed like mini groomsmen, and flower girl Kaci Bates in her white gown really stole the show.

Bates/Balka Wedding Photos

Josie Bates and Kelton Balka wedding

Josie's dream of a fall wedding has been fulfilled. She and Kelton tied the knot yesterday afternoon at Cove Lake State Park near Knoxville, Tennessee. The backdrop for the ceremony was a lake and the Smoky Mountains.

Many of the Bates siblings were part of the wedding party. Tori Bates Smith played violin, Erin Bates Paine played keyboard, and Lawson Bates performed an original song called "Crazy Love." The ceremony lasted 30 minutes and opened with a prayer by Kelton's father, who has faithfully prayed for Kelton every night.

The wedding colors were burgundy and "blush," according to Erin. Approximately 500 guests attended. The couple's getaway car was a Lexus GX470 SUV. Below are a handful of photos from their special day.

Have you been following our wedding coverage?

Yesterday, we shared a photo of two bridesmaids and flower girls getting ready for the ceremony. This morning, we posted snapshots of Bradley Bates (ring bearer), Carson Paine (ring bearer), and Kaci Bates (flower girl). Allie Webster was also a flower girl, as was a member of the Balka family, and Judson Bates was the third ring bearer. This afternoon, we released a batch of stunning wedding photos. Wedding Weekend Activities

Gil and Kelly Bates' children, children-in-law, and grandchildren came together for Josie and Kelton's wedding on Friday. After the wedding festivities were over and the newlyweds were gone, the rest of the Bates clan enjoyed spending the weekend together, which included a baby shower for Tori.

Carson and Brooklyn have to be one of the cutest brother-sister duos that we have ever seen. These two love spending time together, and Erin and Chad have said that Carson has doted on Brooklyn since the day she was born. At only 15 months apart, they are sure to be friends for life.

Flashback to the day when Josie Bates and Kelton Balka started courting. While walking around Gatlingburg, Tennessee, with their parents, they walk into a candy shop to pick up some "souvenirs" for the Bates kids back home and to watch some of the demonstrations. Josie and Kelly are especially entertained by the taffy machine.

Bates Provide Hurricane Relief in FL

Lawson Bates hurricane Michael relief

When disaster strikes, the Bates are always ready to lend a helping hand. Over the weekend, Lawson Bates spent time in the Panama City, Florida, area, providing emergency relief following Hurricane Michael. Residents have been able to return to their homes to survey the damage, but many are still without power. The death toll is now over 30 and could continue to rise.

Please keep the hurricane victims in your prayers, and consider donating supplies or funds to a reputable relief organization. (SamaritansPurse.org is a wonderful one.)
